What is IFTTT?

IFTTT derives its name from the programming conditional statement “if this, then that.” What the company provides is a software platform that connects apps, devices and services from different developers in order to trigger one or more automations involving those apps, devices and services.

FarmPulse is but one of the services available in the IFTTT ecosystem.  We connect your sensor network to the world through triggers and actions.

Here are just four if this, then that automations you can run with IFTTT:

If an electric fence monitor reports low fence voltage, then a notification of that event is sent to your mobile device.

If excess water consumption is detected from a centre pivot water meter then record the usage in a Google Sheets spreadsheet.

If a 9am soil moisture reading is received then send an email,

If its 9am on Monday then send a Weekly Water Usage report to your water scheme manager.

We will be adding more triggers and actions to the FarmPulse IFTTT service as our portfolio of sensors increases.

What is LoRA

LoRa is a patented digital wireless data communication IoT technology developed by Cycleo of Grenoble, France, and acquired by Semtech in 2012.  LoRa uses license-free sub-gigahertz radio frequency bands like 169 MHz, 433 MHz, 868 MHz (Europe) and 915 MHz (North America).  LoRa enables very-long-range transmissions (more than 10 km in rural areas) with low power consumption.  The technology is presented in two parts — LoRa, the physical layer and LoRaWAN, the upper layers.
